Andy jumped right into content today and went straight into an interview with Ryan Mauro about what will happen next in Syria. They also spoke about NATO handing control of Afghanistan to the Afghan Army and Hamid Karzai’s plans to talk to the Taliban. Janet E. Johnson called in to analyze the 5-4 Supreme Court decision stating that ‘silence CAN be used against a person before their Miranda Rights are read’. They also talked about a falsely imprisoned man getting a $6 million settlement for spending 24 years in jail during which time he got divorced. Well, his ex-wife is back and looking for some of that money. They spoke about another high profile divorce – Harold Hamm and the $11 billion fortune at stake, no prenup no problems!
I got to do almost a full hour of Bizarre News today! There were so many stories that Andy and I covered, I couldn’t possibly list them here but these were some of my favorites: an update and ruling on the case of the 8 month erection, a man’s dui on a shopping cart, Coney Island’s shocking killing spree, a really bad babysitter, how Jon Gosselin single handedly destroyed a fashion empire, and a Canadian couple being forced to foot a $5,000 excavation bill after finding bones from the 1500’s in their yard. Andy explained the Obama Care Data Hub before going into the Newswire.
Oh man, I LOVED this segment – Brian Stelter, author of Top of the Morning, called in to talk about the value of the network morning shows and all the backstabbing and money that goes along with that whole world. It was FASCINATING. They spoke all about why Matt Lauer is so unlikeable, ABC and NBC’s ratings swap during the Ann Curry debacle, and why CBS just can’t get it together when it comes to their morning programming. At the end of the hour I came back in to give an Anthony Weiner update!
