Cape Coral, FL - Police in Southwest Florida are searching for a suspect who allegedly exposed himself to another driver in Cape Coral on Thursday.
The victim, identified as Cape Coral resident Lisa Ruiz, is urging drivers to be aware after witnessing the public indecency incident on Thursday evening.
Ruiz reported seeing a half-naked man touching himself in a car at a busy Cape Coral intersection.
Ruiz tells NBC 2 News she saw a car inching forward next to her with the windows down and noticed a man exposed from the waist down touching himself.
“I quickly looked away and I was, like, in complete disbelief. There's no way that I just saw what I saw,” Ruiz said. “ I looked back to confirm, and then that's when, when I noticed that he was completely exposed and was — yes, stroking himself.”
Despite being shaken by the experience, Ruiz followed the car briefly while contacting the Cape Coral Police Department.
Ruiz hopes sharing her story will encourage others to stay vigilant on the roads.
An investigation into Thursday’s incident is ongoing.
